rachel burroughs/met l. jones, III
october 6, 2012
Rachel Burroughs and Met Jones III exchanged vows October 6, 2012 at The Villa Marre in Little Rock. Pastor Ed Mathews married the couple in front of 120 guests in an outdoor ceremony.
Though the couple had known each other since high school, it was a chance encounter at a gas station that brought them together. Later, Met surprised Rachel while on a float trip at the Caddo River. He was preparing a pot roast to enjoy later that evening, and asked Rachel to cut the vegetables. To her surprise, an engagement ring encircled one of the carrots.
Florist Greg Daniels created beautiful arrangements of orange and cream roses and calla lilies for the ceremony and reception. Peacock blue and rust orange colors were the palate for the bridesmaids dresses from David’s Bridal, as well as blue tablecloths and orange rose boutonnieres.
The bride met her groom in a strapless gown with a sweetheart neckline from Proposals. It was the second dress Rachel tried on, and when she put it on she just knew it was the dress for her. Her future husband, Met, was amazed when he saw his bride in her dress.
Catering Creations prepared heavy hors d’oeuvres for the reception, and Mickey’s Special Affairs created a four-tier wedding cake. Mickey’s also prepared a unique groom’s cake for Met featuring a grill with a steak on top.
The Arkansas Symphony Orchestra performed during the ceremony, and The Matt Webb band entertained the guests during the reception.
Michelle Posey captured the wedding in beautiful photographs in spite of an early morning rainstorm that threatened the outdoor ceremony.
The couple vacationed to Punta Cana for their honeymoon, and now reside in Pine Bluff.
